Privacy & trial information.
Suggested website wording. Application privacy details and final trial terms still need to be confirmed.
Website privacy
Batten is developed by DatumEdge Ltd, New Zealand. You can contact us at [email protected].
When you get in touch
If you email us, you choose the information to include. This may be your name, contact details, farming area and information about what you need. The proposed purpose is to reply, discuss Batten and assess whether a trial would suit your farm.
The website itself does not submit a form or store your enquiry. Email opens in your own email service. Please leave out passwords and personal information about other people.
Access, corrections and questions
Contact [email protected] if you want to ask about personal information held about you, request access or correction, or raise a privacy concern.
Details to confirm
Before publication, DatumEdge must confirm who handles enquiries, which email and hosting providers process them, any overseas processing, how long enquiry records and hosting logs are kept, and the responsible privacy officer. These details should be added here. No hosting location or security certification is promised by this draft.
Cookies and website tools
The supplied website code does not set cookies or use analytics, advertising trackers or browser storage. The hosting provider may keep request logs; its practices must be checked before publication. Any new tracking or enquiry service requires this statement to be updated.
Trial and website information
The trial is free for selected farms actively contributing through regular use, issue reporting, feature feedback and arranged discussions, for up to a year. Longer-term feature trials are by invitation. Any New Zealand farmer may enquire, with Waikato and Bay of Plenty preferred for visits. Enquiring does not guarantee a place.
Setup help is available during the trial. A drone aerial may be included for suitable local farms only by prior arrangement. Ideas and feedback help shape development; not every request can be delivered.
Trial farms should receive a separate agreement before joining. It should explain the trial period, support, who controls farm access, how farm records are used and handled, what happens if someone leaves, and what happens at the end of the trial. This website draft is not that agreement.
Farm information and support access
DatumEdge Ltd owns Batten. Support access to farm data requires approval through the application or an accepted invitation. Paddock and mapping information remains associated with land parcels if a farm leaves, to support a later return. Jobs and their photos are deleted when the job is completed. If Batten does not continue beyond the trial, a PDF of the created farm map can be provided.
Before public launch, the application privacy statement and trial agreement must confirm these arrangements, the retention period for mapping information, access and correction processes, and what happens when the people responsible for land change. This draft is not the trial agreement.
Application privacy and Batten Safe
Farm maps, job records, staff information and other app data need a separate, accurate application privacy statement and terms. Those must reflect the actual service. Batten Safe is being developed and is not an available emergency monitoring or response service.
About the illustrations
Product previews use fictitious farms and records to explain the intended use. They are not screenshots of the current app. Landscape scenes are generated illustrations of New Zealand farming settings, not photographs of customer farms.
